About ME
Hi! My name is Katie Allsop and I am sixteen years old. I've been riding and racing bikes since virtually before I could walk, but only in the last few years realised that everything off-road is where my heart is. I've always raced XCO and cyclo-cross, but also started doing enduros and DH during lockdown when there was no mass-start racing. My focus now is very firmly Enduro. I love techy, rooty tracks the best! I am proud to ride for Specialized Youth Development Team.
I'm lucky enough to live in the Chiltern Hills in the UK, where there is lots of natural riding, but this year have enjoyed riding further afield, both racing and for fun. I am super-proud to have just won the British National Enduro Championship (Junior Women) and to be able to rep the GB stripes next season. This year I missed the start of racing as I was out in Canada taking part in a (secret!) project, but I was thrilled to take part in my first UCI World Cup EDR in Morillon where I came 4th.
Aside from cycling, I play football for a local U23 ladies team, and I train by track running and in the gym too. Last year I learned to ski, and I'm hoping to learn to snowboard too. I am a qualified British Cycling Coach (Introduction to Coaching Off-Road) and am hoping to study Sports Coaching at University when I finish Sixth-Form. I also help coach our school netball and girls' football teams.
I'm also one half of the infamous 'ROTOR Rexs'. But shhhh.....don't tell anyone! Watch out for us at races this season and come and say hi!
